Secondary Lead: Lead Prices Rise Significantly, Downstream Enterprises Adopt a Wait-and-See Approach with Cautious Procurement [SMM Lead Midday Review]

SMM December 24 News:

Today, the SMM #1 lead average price increased by 150 yuan/mt from yesterday to 17,025 yuan/mt. Refined lead spot orders were mainly quoted at premiums of -50~0 yuan/mt against the SMM #1 lead average price on a tax-included ex-works basis, while the mainstream tax-excluded ex-works quotation for refined lead was around 15,800 yuan/mt. Lead prices rose significantly, causing downstream enterprises to adopt a wait-and-see approach and purchase cautiously. Secondary lead supply quotations struggled to catch up with the increase. Today, the procurement sentiment for secondary refined lead was 0.72, while the sales sentiment was 1.72. (Historical data can be queried by logging into the database.)
